Career restart
Despite all efforts to find another solution, it must be acknowledged that age, or age-related restrictions, is a limiting factor for the exercise of some professions. However, age does not have to be the only reason for leaving an existing career and embarking on a new life path. Leaving aside the cases where the employee concerned decides to change their job voluntarily, it is understandable that such a radical forced change in working life is not easy for the disabled person. That is why we decided to use the experience of our partners and collaborators to create a program that would help with the career restart.
The programme consists of two parts:
-
Awareness raising among at-risk workers and HR professionals;
-
educational activities.
Awareness
Despite the fact that age- and health-related risks are quite often discussed and written about in some professions, the absolute majority of employees at real risk do not acknowledge the actual situation. That is why we consider it necessary to communicate not only with at-risk workers, but also with HR specialists in companies and to warn them not only about the possible risks, but also about the possibilities to best prepare for the impending forced change.
Education
Educational activities are focused on theoretical knowledge and practical experience. They therefore consist of courses focusing on theoretical expertise in several fields in which they can apply their experience, the necessary soft skills, complementary expertise in e.g. information and communication technologies and, last but not least, on strengthening practical experience. The purpose of the training activities is to provide those interested with the necessary know-how that will enable them to change jobs without difficulty and to restart their careers easily.
The main task of the Meet 2 Grow association is to prepare everything, get suitable partners and organize it. It uses the knowledge and experience of experts from companies, schools and other organisations.
From 1 April 2015 to 31 December 2015, we implemented the project Career Restart - support for prolonging the working life of people over 50 years of age, funded by the European Social Fund and the state budget of the Czech Republic.
Project registration number: CZ.2.17/2.1.00/37168.
